Summary

I am Moin, a driven, disciplined, and ambitious young adult with a deep-rooted commitment to excellence in both academic and athletic pursuits. I take immense pride in my ability to persevere, adapt, and lead, qualities I have developed through years of rigorous education, extracurricular involvement, and self-improvement.

Educated at Pangbourne College, an institution renowned for its naval heritage and emphasis on character development, I immersed myself in a challenging environment that demanded the highest standards of discipline and performance. There, I completed the Bronze level of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award in Year 9 and chose to pursue the more demanding Silver and Gold levels over time, experiences that tested and ultimately strengthened my resilience, self-reliance, and leadership. Each level involved sustained voluntary service, physical endurance, skill development, and an expedition in which I navigated challenging terrain with no technological aid, requiring mental fortitude, collaborative problem-solving, and complete independence.

My time in the Combined Cadet Force (CCF) also played a formative role in shaping my sense of responsibility and leadership. The structure and discipline I encountered during my service cultivated time management, logistical planning, and communication skills that seamlessly translate into the workplace. I further demonstrated commitment by participating in the annual ceremonial “Beat Retreat” parade, a synchronised display of discipline, honour, and precision in which we flip and display real rifles.

I was honoured to represent Pangbourne’s First XV rugby team, and now continue to balance academics and elite sport through Henley College’s prestigious Elite Rugby Programme, playing for the First XV while maintaining my academic performance in Photography, Film and Marketing, in which I am currently predicted grades of A, A, and Distinction respectively.

In addition to my academic and extracurricular commitments, I’ve gained valuable professional experience through various hospitality and catering roles. I have worked multiple years at Pangbourne College’s annual Seafarers Falkland Memorial events, a high-level formal function that requires grace, reliability, and impeccable service under time constraints. I have also supported a Henley-based catering company at events including a formal reunion held at Rupert House, and have held customer-facing roles at Ade Meyhane, a Turkish restaurant in Pangbourne, and more recently for a shift at The Cross Keys pub. These roles required me to think on my feet, remain composed under pressure, and deliver excellent service with courtesy and professionalism, skills that translate directly to any workplace setting.

Beyond academics and athletics, I possess a natural curiosity and enthusiasm for learning. I actively engage in personal interests including photography, film editing, world economics, cryptocurrency, gardening, and recreational sports such as tennis and weight training. These hobbies not only reflect my intellectual versatility but also enhance my creativity, discipline, and strategic thinking.

My experiences have instilled in me a strong work ethic, refined interpersonal skills, and a calm, composed presence under pressure. I bring a mature and thoughtful approach to all tasks, and I am eager to contribute these attributes to any team or organisation that values dedication, initiative, and integrity.

Working as a waiter and bartender for a catering company was a highly rewarding experience, allowing me to engage directly with customers and deliver attentive, high-quality service in a fast-paced environment. I found particular satisfaction in the interpersonal side of the role, as strong communication is one of my key strengths. The role sharpened my ability to remain efficient, professional, and approachable under pressure. I’m now eager to build on this experience by taking on a new weekend position where I can continue developing my skills and contribute meaningfully to a hardworking team.

Sirma
Pangbourne, West Berkshire
01.2025 - 04.2025

While working as a waiter at a Turkish restaurant, I regularly handled high-pressure evening shifts with just one other colleague. Despite the fast-paced environment and limited staff, we consistently maintained a high standard of service and ensured every customer felt valued and well attended to. My ability to remain composed, efficient, and personable was recognised one evening when I received a particularly generous tip from a customer during one of our busiest nights. This experience demonstrated my adaptability, strong work ethic, and commitment to excellence, qualities I carry into every role I take on.
