  • Responsible for a safe, secure & correct aircraft arrival to/departure from its parking stand. This is to include the overseeing of safety of the entire operation on the ramp area, involving all staff and third-party suppliers.
  • Communicate aircraft load and fuel figures with flight crew and load control.
  • Operate aerobridges to enable passengers to embark and/or disembark the aircraft.
  • Liaise with all relevant stakeholders during a turnaround (Airline managers, aircraft head loaders, boarders and air pursers) through effective communication.
  • Provide guidance for loading, e.g. location of load (bulk, compartments, ULD (unit load device) positions), e.g. type of load (bags, cargo, mail, dangerous goods and special loads)
  • Carry out safety checks on the ramp to ensure it is FOD free and operate Stand Entry Guidance systems to enable the aircraft to taxi into stand.
