Experienced electrician with comprehensive expertise in electrical installation work, developed through a five-year apprenticeship with Eastern Electricity PLC. Proficient in handling projects within the social housing sector, as well as domestic and commercial/industrial environments since 1999. Skilled in addressing client concerns effectively through strong communication abilities, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
Joined with this social housing company in 2012 when it was still an ex council owned charitable association named VAHT (The Vale Of Aylesbury Housing Trust)
Subsequent rebranding to move with the times led to a rebrand, now called Fairhive Homes Ltd,
I have worked in voids department here for last 7 years, carrying out repairs and electrical testing to the housing stock and in the general maintenance and repairs before this, carrying out general repair and installation works to properties throughout the area.
I have enjoyed my time here immensely and have a very good relationship with the staff/operatives here knowing I am trusted and willing part of the organisation
Having departed from the upcoming contracting firm of my own will, I spent a short period working for a small construction firm based in Watford, carrying out repairs to social housing (voids and occupied) in areas of Luton, St Albans and London in much the same role as I had previously been in with previous employers in the electrical side of the company
PB Electrics are a small electrical contracting firm I worked for, carrying out various aspects of domestic and commercial jobs all around the local area to Berkhamsted and sometimes beyond, often working alone on smaller domestic projects.
After leaving Eastern Electricity I joined Dacorum after being headhunted by the leader of the electrical team, firstly working on repairs and fault finding, by 2004 was a part of the voids team testing, repairing and bringing the homes up to a decent compliant state regarding the electrical systems, a job I enjoyed a great deal.
Here I undertook further essential training to keep in line with the ever changing regulations, such as Testing and inspection updating which I undertook at the NIC headquarters in Dunstable.
Eventually I was again headhunted and my decision, although quite hard was swayed when the council underwent a TUPE takeover to Mitie Property Services
After successfully passing my GCSEs in Mathematics, English and Sciences I was lucky enough to secure an apprenticeship with the local electricity company which lasted for 5 years, subsequently culminating in an NVQ level 3 in wiring systems and appliances, installation and maintenance which I received following the successful completion of my apprenticeship in 1995, also collecting City And Guilds certificates in electrical competences parts 1 and 2 between 1990 and 1992
.
The work here was a variety of domestic (rewires, heating installations, periodic testing, social housing) and commercial (Cable installation at sites such as Amersham International, power factor correction units in various companies, a power station recommission at Drakelow C site in Burton on Trent where I was living on site for 9 months, (now sadly demolished)
On return back to Hemel I was head hunted by the manager of the electrical department at Dacorum Borough Council after spending a few months carrying out rewires (occupied and void) in the local Dacorum area
Competent in all areas of electrical installation work having completed a five year apprenticeship with Eastern Electricity PLC, have since worked mainly in the social housing sector after leaving Eastern Electricity in 1999 where I worked in both domestic and commercial/industrial zones
