Accomplishments

I have achieved both the Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh Awards and am currently working towards my Gold Award. Through this, I have developed resilience, commitment, and strong teamwork skills, as well as the ability to push myself outside of my comfort zone and balance long-term commitments alongside my academic studies

I was a finalist in the Scottish Future Asset Investment Competition, where my team created and presented a detailed investment pitch. This experience strengthened my creative thinking, financial awareness, and public speaking skills, as we had to justify our decisions clearly and confidently to a panel of judges.

As Finance Director in a school Enterprise initiative, I was responsible for preparing accurate financial forecasts, calculating costs, setting budgets, and managing company funds. This role required strong attention to detail, organization, and accountability, as well as the confidence to help guide key business decisions.

I completed work experience with Lloyds Banking Group, where I gained insight into professional corporate environment. In addition, I spent a week at the Scottish Parliament, which broadened my understanding of professional workplace standards.

I volunteer as a coach at my hockey club, where I help lead younger teams through training sessions and tournaments. This role has developed my leadership, communication, and teaching skills. I am also completing an umpiring course, where I have learned to officiate hockey matches, strengthening my decision-making, confidence, and ability to remain composed under pressure.

At school, I reached the final of the YPI (Youth Philanthropy Initiative) competition with my team, where we researched, evaluated, and presented on a chosen charity. This experience enhanced my teamwork, research, and presentation skills while deepening my understanding of social issues.

I am also an active member of my school’s PPE (Philosophy, Politics, and Economics) Club, where I engage in discussions on current affairs and global issues. Additionally, I have taken part in Heads Together, helping to raise awareness of mental health within my school community and promote open conversations around wellbeing.

Affiliations

  • I am a member of my school’s hockey team and have competed in numerous tournaments, including winning the U15 Scottish Schools Cup and the East Schools Cup. Hockey has strengthened my teamwork, communication, and ability to perform under pressure. I also play for the school tennis team, which has developed my determination, resilience, and self-motivation through competing in a more individual sport.
