also have beside my permanent role have had eight years’ experience working with the British Pregnancy Advisory Service Five years working

experience with the NHS Professionals up to now in the Theatre settings as a Theatre HCA and Associate Practitioner Mainly Trauma Orthopaedic, General Surgery and Gynaecology Theatres UHS and Princess

Ann Hospitals Theatres This has allowed me to develop my knowledge and skills to provide holistic and individualised care for the patients

I am keen to study further so I will develop and be able to provide more gold standard care for the patients and be able to support my colleges and

department further My current experience lies within caring for adult and Newborn patients in the peri-operative environment

I am passionate to do more for patients and I have always believed that a nursing job to be even more satisfying and rewarding role because we can

make a difference to patients and their family lives I have a caring manner and I am committed to providing the best care possible during the patient

journey I always try to be caring and understanding, and communicate with the patients whilst supporting them during procedures under local

anaesthetic when they are scared, understanding that this can be an frightening environment

I started working for Trust in 2004 as a ward Assistant and I progressed to become a Theatres Health Care Assistant and then further to become an

Assistant Theatre Practitioner after completing my Diploma in perioperative care

The health and wellbeing of myself is also important to enable me to provide the care I want to our patients I am physically fit and healthy I go to the

gym four times a week, walk most of the day, cycle to work daily and play cricket for the hospital team

I enjoy the challenge of my current daily work and feel proud of the skills I have developed such as communication with the different professionals as

well as the patients An additional skill I have learnt is to act as an advocate for awake and unconscious patients, taking into consideration their needs

whilst in our care, for example their privacy, dignity, pressure care

When thinking about what academic skills I have to help me meet the demand of working in Theatres, I believe having completed my Advanced level

apprenticeship in health (perioperative support) in 2017; my IT skills and communications are at a very good level
