Police Sergeant - Neighbourhood Policing

I currently lead a team of Police Officers and Police staff covering Monmouthshire county.

I work closely with partner agencies and stakeholders, to tackle serious and organised crime, volume crime and Anti-social behaviour. I regularly attend and chair multi agency meetings, in order to prevent and disrupt crime and anti social behaviour.

I organise and oversee pre-planned and spontaneous operations, manage and facilitate security and safeguarding on community events, and manage and oversee complex investigations.

I am responsible for managing the overall ongoing risk within the community, by overseeing and developing intelligence, completing relevant safeguarding of vulnerable people and developing Community Tension assessments, complete with regular actions.

I analyse crime trends and patterns, and task staff, other departments and partner agencies, in order to identify offenders and prevent further crime.

I was responsible for overseeing and assessing all contacts made into the Control room, assessing threat, harm and risk, dispatching the appropriate resource and response.

Working closely with partner agencies and departments to ensure correct resource and response is provided.

As a Tactical Firearms Commander I managed spontaneous Firearms deployments, providing firearms and unarmed officers with relevant tactics, parameters and instructions to achieve a targeted outcome, inline with relevant powers, policies and procedures.
