Management History

  • My first leadership role came in 2003, when I took up the position of Automotive Supervisor, responsible for 6 locations in the Southeast UK. This role gave me a chance to develop people management skills in practice for the first time, and I always lead with a strong team ethic. I thrived in the role, and was very keen to accept additional responsibility, resulting in managing 11 locations across the South of the UK, this was a challenge I relished, and spent several years producing strong results, developing teams, and recognizing leadership people for the future of the Automotive department.
  • I became a Fleet Manager in 2010 and drove the team to produce excellent results in safety, reliability and cost efficiency, consistently for 5 years. These years were most rewarding from a development point of view, where I saw 3 of my team grow into leaders, and they are all now members of the UPS management team.
  • From 2015 - 2021 I filled the positions of Operations Manager, and then Automotive Director in the UKIN District. This gave me an opportunity to work closely with other UK board members and be a part of strategic decisions for the business, whilst always supporting from a fleet perspective. During this period, I also completed my degree in Business Management & Leadership, something that really changed the way I would lead teams and make decisions in the future. The UK made huge progress during this period, and accelerated within the ranks of Europe, to hold number 1 position in multiple BSC elements consistently, as well as working through a period of extreme uncertainty during the covid epidemic and Brexit implementation.
  • From UKIN District Automotive Director, I progressed to lead the International Automotive Engineering department, this has given me the opportunity to gain vital experience, playing a leading role for the organization during a time of rapid change & expansion within the engineering space, from an electrification, decarbonization, and autonomous perspective. I have developed strong relationships with both long-standing OEM’s and start-ups in the EV space. Most recently leading a team to co-design, produce and deliver over 700 electric vehicles across Europe. I’ve also been able to spend time, and influence engineering decisions across Asia-pacific & South America, working with a wide range of people from multi-cultural backgrounds. I have benefited from their diverse thinking and the strategic actions we have implemented together.
  • I’ve been able to create some excellent connections within the Europe Region especially, working within several committees, consisting of key departmental stakeholders, making key decisions for the European fleet strategy, to ensure they align to organizational sustainability goals and operational commitments. I believe I can lead a diverse spectrum of teams to achieve optimum performance, always empowering people to draw from their own sense of ownership and responsibility.
  • I am driven to provide perfect service, always paying attention to small detail. I am customer focused and always willing to go to extra lengths to ensure service provided to internal customers is first class.
  • My degree education and time spent within international leadership team environments, has given me the ability to assess multiple business situations, build an effective strategy, and execute to achieve goals and objectives, through strong leadership.
