SKILLS IN PRACTICE

  • Leadership and Team Work – As an Executive Waitress, I independently served my own set of tables. Taking responsibility for meeting the needs of my highly regarded regular clients; with whom I developed strong relationships. I ensured they received the highest level of service whilst also offering support to my colleagues. I’ve continued to show a strong team-work ethic. Supported by my ability to effectively use radios to communicate and resolve issues discretely.
  • Communication and Customer Service – With excellent verbal and written communication skills, I am able to engage people of all ages and backgrounds, including assisting those with disabilities. My training in public speaking through LAMDA has further developed my confidence, helping me excel in taking orders and relaying concise information between chefs and floor staff. Additionally, my French A-Level has expanded my abilities of communication across languages.
  • High achiever – Consistently exceeding targets and delivering high quality work ahead of schedule; I am recognised as a highly organised individual. My ambitious goals drive me to perform above expectations whether academically, physically or socially.
  • Food safety and Fine Dining – I have completed a comprehensive food safety course and received training in silver dining. This training has presented me with the skills to provide a premium dining service from presentation to customer interaction. From this I have a strong understanding of allergies, dietary restrictions and food hygiene.
  • Research and Analysis – My research and analytical skills have been developed through the Extended Project Qualification and my participation in a Marine Biology Summer School. For my EPQ, I collected data from reputable scientific journals, critically evaluated sources and presented my findings in a comprehensive written report. Upon attending the Marine Biology Summer School, I contributed to a group research project and applied qualitative and quantitative analysis to our collected data; including the use of statistical tests and accurate data plotting.
  • Media and Design – I have a strong passion for using media as a form of artistic expression, with my experience in digital art and design reflected by my grade 9 in GCSE Art. I’ve applied my creativity to marketing and digital design projects for my society at university.
