Policy Manager

I am a high performing Policy Manager at the ICE. My responsibilities include:

  • Authoring and briefing stakeholders, including MPs, members of the House of Lords and C-suite industry leaders on high-profile ICE policy papers. The most recent was a paper on major project delivery that was covered in Politico's Playbook email.
  • Recently deputising for the Head of Policy while they were away on a period of extended sick leave.
  • Recently leading the ICE's response to the Water White Paper and engagement with members.
  • Regular leadership of reactive policy projects (submissions, select committee spokespeople briefings, analysis blogs, engagement with government departments, etc.)
  • Representing the ICE at speaking events mainly focused on our advice I led on to inform the development of the New Zealand Infrastructure Commission's 30-year Infrastructure Plan. This has included speaking alongside previous NZ Cabinet ministers.
  • Undertaking competitor analysis to inform improved policy product and influencing development.
  • Developing a range of stakeholder relationships that have led to us partnering with high profile agencies, think tanks and supported intel gathering.

  • Led and delivered advocacy work programme (Head of equivalent role, reporting directly to Chief Executive).
  • Authored key documents, including 2023 election manifesto, policy positions, reports, and submissions to Government, on behalf of the sector.

  • Built and managed relationships with key ministers and members of Parliament to advance sector priorities, including with senior UK leaders and former politicians.

  • Led development and execution of content across our events work programme, including New Zealand’s largest infrastructure conference – Building Nations, international delegations, member events and senior leaders' retreats. The audience's rating of conference content has improved year on year as I gained more responsibility developing the strategic direction of the event. 2025 content feedback was the best in the history of the event.
