Mark Ryan

To complete my T-Level in Engineering Design and Development, I have to complete 315 hours of work placement in my last year of the course. Within this role I am responsible for producing CAD samples for components that get 3D printed on the company's own manufactured monolithic advanced ceramic printer. I then test these samples for mechanical properties and record the results effectively. Also, I have had the opportunity to involve myself in collaborative discussions with experienced engineers and aid in finding solutions for problems they encounter, and be apart of a team. This experience has been very effective as not many individuals get the opportunity to attend such a useful work experience.

This role really showed me what im capable of, it took a lot of dedication and really imporved my work ethic as I pushed myself to complete these 10 hour shifts, 3 nights a week, despite being a full time student monday through friday. Within this role I had the opportunity to work alongside a great and effective team as we completed tasks throughout the night. This was a temporary role as it was seasonal but in my short time there I had the opportunity to improve skills.

This role has provided me the opportunity to develop new skills including managing stock levels, ensuring orders are correct prior to being dispatched, providing reliable customer service, and overseeing health & safety arrangements within the warehouse.

• Loaded and unloaded truck deliveries using stock systems to process and arrange orders

Casual member of staff - I provide availability to support match days and functions behind the bar at the East Leeds Cricket Club. This has provided me with experience of bar work, and has provided an opportunity to engage with customers, which has helped improve my confidence.
