Summary

My main strengths are my attitude, communication skills and professionalism. I can communicate well with all types of patients, family members and professionals/students; whether there is a language barrier or non-verbal barriers I ensure that I find ways to understand and help them understand me. I am calm, patient and can handle high pressured, stressful situations. I know my strengths and limitations and I can comfortably and confidently ask for help when I need to while also offering help any way I can. I strive to educate myself and learn anywhere possible to continually improve myself to be the best I can be for my patients, colleagues and students. I work well autonomously as well as within a team and I believe that a smile can make all the difference to someone’s day.

I have experience with medical, general surgery, plastics, orthopaedic, gynaecology and urology patients from my nursing background and I am confident in my knowledge, skillset and compassion when providing care to patients. This background has been invaluable to me throughout my career and is part of what I believe is essential for having the skills to provide the support and knowledge needed within this role. I am a quick learner, hard-working and incredibly determined to be the best that I can be for my patients/clients and their families. I take criticism well and can comfortably learn from anyone who is willing to teach. I am flexible and integrate well with any team. I have excellent time management skills, and I can balance my workload appropriately and effectively prioritise. I have taken charge of shifts and managed large numbers of patients of varying acuity teaching me to handle the high-pressured ward environments and highlighting my decision making, organisational and leadership skills. I am competent and confident in venepuncture, cannulation, IV drug therapy, medicines management and have taken courses in ILS, NLS and PROMPT. I feel confident in report writing and my documentation and have been involved with various audits throughout my previous roles. I am passionate about service improvement and am adaptable to change where necessary, I also have interests in research especially women’s health.
