Acquisition, handling, and analysis of data from clinical trials, publications, and approvals across a multitude of infectious and cardiometabolic diseases, focusing on:

• Tracking and mapping the research and development of novel vaccines and therapeutics along with epidemiological data of disease prevalence and associated pharmacodynamics.
• Custom work providing insights and analytics to stakeholders (pharmaceutical companies and governments)

As a medical data entry clerk my duties are centred around :

• Processing of large volumes of medical slides for various research and medical facilities around the country, in partnership with both NHS clinics and private clinics under HCA Healthcare.
• Formulation of medical reports used by pathologists and general practitioners so diagnoses can be made.

In this internship I assisted in various research projects within the pathology and histology sector of the university. This included:

• Collection of data in both the field and the lab for further analysis.
• Laboratory practices such as dissections, microscopy and the production and analysis of genomic data (running PCR's, gel electrophoresis etc.).
• Peer reviewing research published within the university.

Working in the ‘Quality and Environment' department, my role entailed:

• Undertaking various administrative and data handling duties in connection with the research taking place in the central laboratory.
• Laboratory technician - testing water samples for various pathogens and bacteria and logging results in a central database.
• Assisting in the PhD Research surrounding the ‘Catchment to Coast' initiative, set up to test the effectiveness of various species of fungal mycelium as a solution to remediate water from pollutants.
• Various projects on data entry, analysis and modelling.
