Accompanying the elderly at a care home helped me to
improve my compassionate care as well as implicating strong interpersonal and communication skills into my character. I became knowledgeable about supporting individuals, with weekly activities and providing emotional support. I believe I am ready to use and develop empathy, patience, and organisational skills in the role.
Having grown up with over 180 people daily for 5 years, I have become accustomed to being able to build relationships and connections with people, a characteristic I believe would be effective in the industry of retail, due to the multitude of different people I would interact with daily.
Engaged with residents at care home during Duke of Edinburgh experience, provided companionship, developed quizzes to stimulate cognitive engagement, monitored well-being, and assisted those in need. I engaged with an average of 10 residents during every visit, with an intention to improve their quality of life and to bring a smile to their face,
