• Responsible for day-to-day commercial management of live civil engineering projects, currently valuing between £1.0m - £8.7m.
• Prepare CVRs for each live project, identify commercial risks & opportunities and present to the commercial manager & director monthly.
• Administer JCT contracts.
• Measure & price variations and submit to clients.
• Issue early commercial warnings.
• Prepare monthly applications and submit to clients.
• Procure and manage all subcontractor packages.
• Attend all live sites weekly, discuss/view any construction or commercial issues.
• Assess domestic subcontractors payment weekly.
• Assess non-domestic subcontractors payment monthly.
• Attend or chair meetings between L&C and clients or sub-contractors (Meetings regarding; Progress, variations, defects, notices, delays, disputes).
• Prepare, review and conduct final account agreement with sub-contract and client accounts.
• Liaise with construction teams, procurement team and client representatives to support successful delivery of the project.
• Undertake detailed measurement and quantification of works from drawings and specifications to support tender pricing.
• Prepare and review tender documentation, identify any issues with the drawings or scope of works. Provide assumptions to support a more accurate tender submission.
• Mentor junior commercial colleagues.
