Work History

Administrative Officer

Home Office
Liverpool, Merseyside
11.2023 - Current

As an AO within the FNORC at the Home Office for nearly 3 years I have demonstrated an ability to communicate effectively and confidently on a daily basis with my fellow team members, other teams within the Home Office and outside agencies including HM Prison Service, HM Courts and the Police. To facilitate this communication I am confident and skilled in the use of systems such as Outlook, Teams and Excel. I also communicate confidently and effectively verbally with my team and line manager and have received positive feedback during both fortnightly case reviews and annual performance reviews.

As a member of the Case Progression Team I am allocated cases for removal. This involves reviewing and assessing the eligibility of foreign national criminal offenders to remain in the UK. I deal with every case on its merits and quickly absorb and interpret the information provided. I then look to apply current UK immigration rules and law. As part of this process I then review all relevant information such as any asylum claims , Court hearings and interviews. At the conclusion of this process I complete a Decision Ready Checklist for review by a dedicated Decision Maker.

My current team is given weekly and monthly targets with regard to removing people from the UK. It is a high-pressure and performance-driven environment. I take personal ownership of my own performance targets and look to progress my individual cases effectively, professionally and within a suitable time frame. I work well under pressure and I am able to multitask effectively and work on multiple cases simultaneously. An example of this would be the fact I have recently received a reward and recognition bonus payment from my line manager for exceeding my monthly target for removals and for contributing significantly to overall team performance.
