Dedicated educator specialising in inclusive learning environments and positive behaviour management. Focused on tracking pupil progress and collaborating with parents to boost outcomes, while inspiring a lifelong love of learning in all students, including those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
With 23 years of teaching experience in Key Stage 2, I have built a strong and consistent record of supporting pupils’ academic, social and emotional development. Having spent the past 20 years as part of my current school—now within a Wiltshire academy trust—I have successfully taught across all year groups in the key stage, adapting my approach to meet diverse learner needs. Having said that, for the past two years, I have taught in year 3 and have employed many KS1 teaching strategies and objectives into my teaching.
Throughout my career, I have taken on a range of subject leadership responsibilities, with my main role being Science Lead. In this position, I have led the subject successfully at school level and worked with the Primary Science Teaching Trust to disseminate high-quality science teaching across our network of schools. This has strengthened my leadership skills and deepened my commitment to raising standards in STEM education.
I have extensive experience supporting children with a diverse range of emotional, social and academic needs, and I am driven by the progress they make not only in their learning but in their confidence, well being and readiness to engage. Collaboration is central to my practice: I have supported colleagues—including newly qualified teachers—while also coordinating the work of teaching assistants, at one time managing a team of three TA's to ensure individual pupil needs were met effectively.
I am a committed, reflective and enthusiastic teacher who thrives as part of a team and is dedicated to providing high-quality, engaging learning experiences for all children.
I am a Thrive practitioner as I completed and passed the course in 2023. I successfully completed a course of study understanding Anaphylaxis in 2024 and then went onto to pass an emergency first aid at work for school course in January 2026. This is valid until January 2029.
