Within this work experience, I was able to meet and network with many staff from the CPS and get a greater understanding of the different departments and lines of work that takes place. This work experience solidified that I aspire to work for the CPS as many of the staff expressed how the job made them feel a sense of accomplishment in helping people, this is something that I would like to use my knowledge to do. I gained new skills of how to analyse cases and was taught how to pick out elements of a case that would be grounds for prosecution.
Since being young, I have regularly volunteered for this charity as giving back is a value that I have always been very committed to. I have regularly gone to the home and given up my time to provide activities for the residents. This has gained my skills of communicating and empathising with people from diverse communities and given me an outlook on life that equality and inclusion effects so many peoples lives. This role is one that gives me a great sense of achievement in being able to help to better the lives of those that are unable to look after themselves.
As a retail assistant, I am responsible for providing the customers with a positive shopping experience by assisting them with enquires and helping them find products. I also restock and replenish stock to maintain the stores high standards. I work well within a team distributing roles accordingly in order to get all the work completed within the time provided.
In this role, I help people to understand their rights and options with various different issues within the triage stage of the service. I am also responsible for initially interviewing clients and deciding whether their case requires signposting to other services, if I can give information based off of the information on the public site or whether a service within the CAB is relevant to deal with the client. I am also responsible for being the first impression that people see when they come to the service therefore I show empathy to clients issues whilst remaining professional and working out the best course of action to give the client the most helpful service possible. This role has also given me the self-motivation and confidence to enter the legal industry knowing that I wanted to join the industry to help other people.
