Working with a care company caring for a young man with behavioural issues and severe autism. When arriving on shift I would always make sure the home was kept safe, clean and secure to keep his mental health all well with a clean environment. There would be some challenging behaviour throughout some weeks which could last for a while, my job was to keep him well composed and calm, we would do activities such as online games on his console and even going to the park for fresh air, this ensured his mental health was prioritised and well. When days were tough I would help clean his room, washing his clothes and bed sheets and prompting him to shower and keep up on hygiene , sometimes eating would be a problem when he was upset so I would make homemade meals for us both to sit and watch while watching a movie to cheer him up .
