Electrical Supervisor/Project Manager

AKD Systems
Glasgow, Edinburgh, Crewe
2018.06 - Current
  • I have been an electrical supervisor and have transitioned into a project manager role on large scale commercial projects. I am responsible for handling a project from the initial pre-start meetings to the eventual handover of the project.
  • My duties consist of handling weekly site meetings and progress reports. Planning works to ensure that deadlines are met. Organise material in advance to minimise downtime and delays. Manage the required labour and subcontractors throughout the project. I would also liaise with the electrical consultants and various design team members on a regular basis to ask and awnser and relevent RFI.
  • During projects any drawing change variations or required additional works, I would produce the estimates for the client. Monthly progress valuations would be updated before tying in with the QS to ensure all works have been appropriately accounted for and claimed.
  • The latest project I have worked on was 3 Lochside Avenue, Edinburgh. This was a million pound electrical package involving new panel boards and full office fit outs within some of the suites. The entire core land lord areas of the 4 levels including a large scale cafe have been totally re-done. Variations and additional works amounted to a further 200k.

Electrician/Electrical Supervisor

Electrical Solutions Scotland LTD
Rutherglen
2010.01 - 2018.06
  • My role consisted of leading the electrical team on small to large scale commercial projects. This also involved occasional domestic and industrial projects.
  • During these projects I would work on installing containment, wiring and fit out of electrical systems. Distribution boards and testing of each project. Worked well under pressure during time-sensitive projects ensuring timely completion.
  • Trained apprentices in the team, enhancing their skills and knowledge base helping them become independent and productive.

Apprentice electrician

Glendale Electrical
Riddrie
2008.07 - 2009.12
  • At sixteen I left school to start my apprenticeship at Glendale Electrical. Standards within the company were high with a focus on quality work, professionalism, timekeeping and attendance. This was the foundation upon which I built my electrical career and knowledge base.
