I have been working for CPS since 2019 as a maintenance operative, from the beginning I really enjoyed doing traffic management and soon progressed within that field. I think from my time doing TM really helped me improve my problem solving skills as quite often we would have issues arise and the team would have to find solutions to still get the job out safely and on time.
Over the last few years I have been working towards joining the barrier crew, by working with them consistently, requesting specific training on my PDR, and just asking for there advice if I am unsure on anything we are doing to better my understand for the role. I have built a very good working relationship with the rest of the barrier crew which helps with efficiency on a nightly basis as we all have an idea of what to expect from each other without having to talk about it.
I am reliable, punctual and have a good work ethic I do what I can to make sure the works run smoothly and efficiently weather that be helping out with the permits we have been issued making sure they are in the correct place, making sure the equipment we need is listed on the permitted list, signing the contractors onto the briefings, loading the rig with correct materials and making sure the vehicles are in safe road worthy condition.
I am keen to improve myself weather that be through gaining more experience and overcoming difficult situations as they arise, not being afraid to ask questions if i am unsure or don't understand or training course to help me become more skilled and more of an asset to the crew and company.
