Being a MAN dealership I also haven experience on working on light commercial vehicles. This being the MAN TGE van.
Whilst I have been at Manchetts I have been trained in the servicing of car transporter equipment. This is important as we look after a small fleet of vehicles for an auctioneer. Ensuring they are maintained to a high standard.
I was mainly a HGV Mechanic working on a fleet of Volvos and DAFs, along with looking after low loader trailers and one flat bed.
I also looked after a variety of customer vehicles and trailers. Which covered most makes of truck and trailer. I was also responsible for booking in work, organising parts and MOT tests. Generally working around the customer in order to deliver the best service possible.
I also looked after some agricultural trailers simple twin axle flat beds with hydraulic brakes. I also serviced the occasional New Holland tractor and Dieci telehandler. This was only once a year and it was our own equipment.
I started my DAF Apprenticeship 08/08/16 this was a three year apprenticeship and I graduated in November 2019. As part of my apprenticeship I was put through my Forklift licence.
My main role was is in diagnosing and rectifying faults. This was done in the workshop sometimes on site or roadside as required. I only worked on DAFs and a very limited number of trailers.
