I have been practicing the Jewellery craft over the last 5 years while also immersing myself within its world. Gaining important skills and valuable knowledge from self taught practice and being inquisitive . This has led my brand "levisrocksjewellery" to successfully design, create and sell jewellery to local and overseas clients.

Working alongside an established and respected local jeweller. Repairing customers jewellery as well as aiding in the creation of commissioned pieces. Within this establishment I've continued to gain skills in;

• Sand casting
• Design
• Problem solving
• Hand techniques

Manufacturing chain, rings and pendants. With the roles of:

• Processing metal,
• Casting,
• Soldering chain,
• Laser-welding,
• Multiple polishing processes.
• Repairing jewellery and custom orders.

This was a major change in my perception of jewellery as before it mainly revolved around hand techniques on a small scale. This was a mass production establishment where I saw the business side to jewellery more so than in the fine details and passion for the craft . I was hired initially but as the company grew they tasked me to train the new recruits. Being in the heart of Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter allowed me to gain information in the field.

During my work experience I learnt traditional techniques for gold, silver and platinum; designing and creating a multiple layer pendant, Curb chain and rings over the first week. I practiced gold plating and enamelling under the guidance of Kokkino jewellery for a week . This experience opened my mind to problem solving and planning ahead whilst also teaching me fundamental techniques.
