Leading a team of 20 over 2 sites, designed, directed, delivered and assured capability and safety assessment of aviation capable Surface Ships in the Royal Navy. Led development of engineering support to aviation units embarking to these platforms including delivery of innovative, digitised and regulatory compliant reporting systems to deliver significant efficiencies in approach.
As Trials Officer, completed inspections and testing to assure compliance to Regulation, Policy and Defence Standards on behalf of Aviation Duty Holders. Assessed and prioritised defect rectification to recover capability and ensure ships remained safe to operate and were able to operated safely.

Ensured that all platform clearances, including Emergency Operational Clearances and Clearances with Limited Evidence were ALARP, Tolerable and all opportunities to reduce risk were exploited. Leading a team of 120 personnel and managing up to 10 aircraft, responsible for ensuring that standards and practices were maintained to safeguard airworthiness and provide serviceable aircraft, armed in the required role and with the required fuel state, to meet agreed flying programmes. Managed squadron engineering workforce levels, supervised engineering training including assessing competence of personnel to underpin the award of authorisations, leadership to day-to-day risk management and co-ordinated the unit Safety, Health, Environment and Fire arrangements.

Special Boat Service Association Flagship Dinner and Boxing Event 2023. Planned managed and delivered the event in HMS QUEEN ELIZABETH, on behalf of the association, raising in excess of £1.7m in 1 evening and delivered a £100k contribution to ship's Welfare Fund.
HMS QUEEN ELIZABETH Boxing Show 2022. Delivered an event, on behalf of the Royal Navy Boxing Association, Amateur Boxing Association and Royal Air Force Boxing Association in HMS QUEEN ELIZABETH, Feb 2022. Attended by c. 250 Service personnel, Industry Partners and civilian invitees.
New Year Honours List 2022 - Deputy Commander Operations' Commendation. Presented for designing and introducing the inaugural RAF ASTRA Technological Exposure Day. Supervised a team of 10 staff members, across multiple sites and 3 Services, to present an event which showcased technologies, for military application now and in the future. Negotiated a constantly changing environment caused by the pandemic, delivering a virtual event which was attended by c. 500 Service and Industry Partner personnel. Chief of the Air Staff remarked on the event surpassing his expectations, due to the enthusiasm and dedication to delivery.
Human Resource Management/Divisional Officer. Since 2007, on promotion to Chief Petty officer, I have been employed as the Divisional Officer to groups of Service personnel, up to 81 in number. Responsible for the pastoral care and career management of these personnel, over a 15 year period, I have completed 4 Divisional Officer's Courses, Royal Naval Senior Rating's Command Course (Jun 2004), Junior Officers Leadership Course (Jun 2013), Intermediate Command and Staff Course (Maritime) (Sep 2014), Head of Department Leadership Course (Jun 2021) in support of this delivery and hold a CMI Level 7 Certificate in Strategic Management and Leadership (QCF) (Jan 2015).

Completed the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom/Cranfield University (College of Management and Technology) System Safety in Action (Jan 2013), System Safety Process Management (Nov 2013) and Systems Safety Practitioner (Jan 2013) courses.
