Summary

Efficient with a solid background in designing aircraft components and structures. Proficient in specialized programs and simulation tools with strong attention to detail. Collaborative professional committed to optimizing design and performance. I am an organized and dependable candidate successful at managing multiple priorities with a positive attitude. Willingness to take on added responsibilities to meet team goals. I have shown this when working with Engineering institutes, Garage stations and volunteering in customer services. Problem-solving team player with experience identifying root causes of engineering faults. Creates thorough policies and procedures for quality assurance, best practices and project management. Monitors project progress and service delivery to confirm projects are completed on time and within budget. I have shown this in my 3rd year individual project which conducted cantilever test experiments and numerical stress analyses on carbon fibre laminate structures with defects. I am also focused on applying sound engineering principles using both traditional and innovative methods as tested in a car garage.

Work history

Air Pollution Intern

Institute: School of Engineering University of Manchester
Manchester, Greater Manchester
06.2021 - 07.2021
  • In Methods of Detecting Air Pollution
  • The summer internship provided me with insight into the different methods of detecting air pollution
  • The beginning weeks were dedicated to researching what air pollution is and what the key factors contributing to air pollution
  • I focused on writing a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) for the remaining weeks
  • As there are many questions directed toward air pollution, I opted for the methods used to detect air pollution, this was because as an engineer we look for ways of collecting and analysing data, so this presented the best opportunity to gain experience in sustainability
  • For my SLR I investigated many sensors such as Lidars, Low-cost IoT, portable sensors and diffusion tubes
  • I was able to analyse over 250 articles in 1 week related to air pollution monitoring systems
  • This experience gave me knowledge of sensors as well as the need to monitor air pollution indoors
  • With this knowledge of different sensors, I was able to produce a good SLR which was appreciated by my project manager and my colleagues
  • Skills I gained:
  • MATLAB (graphs)
  • Structure of SLR
  • Communication
  • Analyses of large data
  • Sensors used for air pollutants
  • Presentation skills
  • Software and hardware of the sensor
  • These 2 months gave valuable insight into the methods and equipment methods that engineers use to monitor air pollution and critically analyse the best methods to use depending on the environment in question.

Engineering Intern

Tony Gee
Manchester, Greater Manchester
07.2019 - 07.2019
  • During this work placement, I was tasked to investigate different types of bridges and the materials they are made from and finish my research with a presentation
  • Furthermore, I was able to gain 3D modelling experience, by using the Civil 3D for a subway project, which enhanced my knowledge of design analyses
  • Furthermore, I researched extensively the Sydney Harbour Bridge designed by John Bradfield
  • The steel section weighs 53,000 tonnes of which 39,000 tonnes is the arch and 79% of the steel was imported from Britain pre-formed on sight
  • With these great facts and figures about many more relevant structures, my presentation won, as it fulfilled the criteria of the task at hand
  • Skills I gained were:
  • Stress and Strain analyses
  • Life of Bridges
  • Concrete vs Steal properties
  • Cable Bridge vs Concrete Bridge
  • Requirement of Cranes
  • Ways to transfer materials to the site
  • These 2 weeks taught me how professional Engineers work daily and their motivation for making the world a better place.

MOT Garage

Bilston MOT
Wolverhampton
06.2021 - 09.2021
  • Test-drove vehicles on and off-site to assist in diagnosing faults and carry out post-repair checks.
  • Took bookings, issued invoices and contacted customers for vehicle collection.
  • Carried out MOT testing in line with VOSA testing requirements.
  • Participated in training of apprentices and passed on necessary information and skills.
