In my role i provide care for unwell children while supporting their families during hospital stays. My role involves maintaining accurate documentation, monitoring patient wellbeing and escalating concerns appropriately. I work closely with nurses, doctors and specialist teams to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.

I approach my work with professionalism and compassion, and aim to provide reassurance and support to both patients and their families.

Main responsibilities:

- Caring for a caseload of patients including social and safeguarding admissions.

-Monitoring paediatric observations and recognising abnormalities.

- Escalating concerns appropriately

-Supporting safeguarding procedures

-Ensuring nutrition and hydration needs are met

-Supporting families during hospital stays

-Assisting medical staff during procedures

- Providing personal care when required

-Preparing patients for theatre and supporting post-operative care.

Selected by my college to complete training to administer COVID-19 vaccinations, following successful qualification and training, i was offered ongoing paid employment through the NHS alongside my studies to support the national vaccination programme.

Key responsibilities:

- Safely preparing and administering COVID-19 vaccines in line with clinical guidelines

-Conducting pre-vaccination assessments, including medical history and contraindication checks.

-Providing clear patient education on vaccine benefits, risks, and aftercare advice

- Monitoring patients post-vaccination and responding appropriately to adverse reactions

- Adhering to infection prevention and control procedures at all times
