Work history

Shadowing

Vine Court Chambers
London
09.2025 - 09.2025

Though my shadowing experience at Vine Court Chambers only lasted two days, it was incredibly enlightening. I observed the initial stages of a client meeting and saw firsthand how a solicitor begins to build a case. Additionally, I was tasked with organising client documents, including reports and photos, to prepare a bundle. This work gave me insight
into the behind-the-scenes administrative tasks involved in legal practice, and how those tasks are crucial to setting the groundwork for effective case management.

Legal intern

Descartes Solicitors
London, Chisiwck
08.2025 - 08.2025
  • Completed work experience placement at Descartes Solicitors, a firm specialising in immigration law. During this time, I assisted in the preparation of trial bundles for both applicant and appeal cases, ensuring accuracy and organisation of key legal documents.
  • I conducted legal research into immigration cases, with a particular focus on the European Convention on Human Rights, specifically Article 3 in relation to deportation proceedings.
  • I was also involved in drafting correspondence to third parties to obtain relevant information to help strengthen ongoing cases. This experience was highly insightful, providing me with a practical understanding of immigration law, case preparation, and the importance of thorough research and evidence-building in legal practice.
  • Reviewed and analysed complex legal documents to assist in dispute resolution cases.
  • Fostered positive client relationships through effective communication and prompt responses to queries.
  • Organised files and maintained a comprehensive database of all ongoing cases for easy retrieval.
  • Prepared case briefs, streamlined decision-making process for the team.

Work experience

Consultant solictor
London
05.2025 - 07.2025
  • For two months I volunteered with a consultant solicitor, working primarily in an administrative role. My duties included proofreading witness statements for grammatical and spelling errors, organising client files to maintain office efficiency, and delivering bundles to courts and tribunals. These responsibilities honed my attention to detail and gave me valuable insight into the day-to-day tasks of a trainee solicitor. This role also significantly improved my professional communication skills, which will be essential throughout my legal career.
