
I am a second - generation migrant and have been translating for my parents from a young age , as English isn’t their first language. This has helped me develop strong communication skills and confidence when speaking to others due to having to assist my parents in many appointments and situations. I am currently studying A Levels in Sociology , English literature and Psychology. As I come from a large family I have been able to gain experience in different work environments because many members run their own businesses which has helped me understand the importance of hard work , responsibility and teamwork.
I gained waitressing experience when working in a busy restaurant , where I was responsible for cleaning and resetting tables , serving food and providing good customer service. I regularly interacted with customer’s and made sure that everything was okay with their service and that they were satisfied with their experience. This role helped me develop communication skills , teamwork and the ability to work efficiently in a fast paced environment also while maintaining a clean dining area and having a positive attitude.
3 day work experience placement

During my work experience at E.ON Next , I spent time shadowing the customer support team and listening to real customer phone calls. This helped me understand how the employees handle customer enquiries in a professional and efficient way. I saw how staff communicated with customers , solved problems and offered support to their customers. This experience improved my understanding on how good customer service is done.
Additionally , I helped around the work place by checking different floors , kitchens and work areas to make sure everything was organised and fully stocked. If I realised that anything was needed I reported this information to the storage areas so it could be sorted. Overall , this experience helped me learn about workplace expectations , the importance of teamwork and how to keep a professional environment running smoothly.
