Summary

After graduating from Stirling University with a degree in Professional Education (Primary) with a specialism in Early Years, I have been working with Falkirk Council as a probationer teacher at Hallglen Primary School (Primary 5). This year has allowed my passion and dedication for teaching to flourish. Engaging in continuous professional development has encouraged me to deeply reflect and develop on my teaching skills and has led to me embed inclusive, and engaging classroom practices to help all learners thrive within a nurturing classroom environment.

I have been a longstanding and committed volunteer, now leader, with the Boys' Brigade for 9 years, this too helped develop my knowledge for working alongside children from different backgrounds with different needs and abilities.

Throughout high school, I acted as a language ambassador and peer mentor, which gave me the opportunity to develop literacy and language skills for the younger children in the school.

I have also had several years of involvement with the Falkirk Youth Theatre which built up my confidence and passion for performing, singing, and dancing. I have maintained an interest in musical theatre and plays and love bringing my creative side into the classroom. From my time at Falkirk Youth Theatre, I have been able to assist holiday clubs for the younger children and aid them in the expressive arts.
