Enthusiastic Trainee Teacher with the ability to create engaging lesson plans and creating a positive learning environment. Skilled in classroom management and connecting with students to boost their confidence and academic performance. Proven success in collaborating with colleagues to develop and implement innovative educational programmes.
My experiences throughout my Initial Teacher Training have deepened my belief that education should be engaging, inclusive, and rooted in developing the whole child. I am committed to creating inspiring learning environments where all pupils feel valued, capable, and motivated to succeed.
During my training, I taught across Key Stages 1 and 2 in private and mainstream primary settings. I have planned and delivered lessons that balanced academic challenge with imaginative engagement. I particularly enjoy using creative strategies—such as drama, storytelling, dance and music—to enhance learning across the curriculum. For example, while teaching literacy in Year 3, I used role-play and character improvisation to help pupils explore narrative voice and emotional empathy. This not only improved writing outcomes but also boosted the confidence of pupils who had previously been reluctant to contribute.
My background in performing arts has given me a strong understanding of how creativity builds communication, teamwork, and self-expression—skills that I believe are essential for lifelong learning. Running a theatre school required me to plan structured sessions, differentiate for a wide range of abilities, and nurture a safe, encouraging atmosphere. These experiences have translated directly into my classroom practice, enabling me to manage behaviour positively, foster engagement, and empower pupils to express themselves with confidence.
Inclusion is at the forefront of my teaching philosophy. I have worked with pupils from diverse backgrounds, including those with SEND and EAL needs. I have used a range of adaptive and creative strategies to ensure all children can access and enjoy learning. I value collaboration with support staff, SENCOs, and parents to provide consistent, targeted support that raises self-esteem and attainment. My goal is for every pupil—regardless of need or background—to feel seen, supported, and successful.
I am a reflective and adaptable practitioner, committed to professional growth and continual improvement. Feedback from mentors and colleagues has helped me refine my teaching style, deepen my understanding of assessment for learning, and build strong classroom routines founded on mutual respect. I am particularly interested in developing cross-curricular approaches that integrate the arts into core subjects, encouraging pupils to think critically and creatively.
Beyond the classroom, I am enthusiastic about contributing to the wider life of the school—whether through performing arts clubs, assemblies, or creative events that strengthen the school community. I take pride in building positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues and believe teamwork is central to a thriving learning environment.
As an Early Career Teacher, I am eager to continue growing within a supportive school that values inclusion, creativity, and high expectations. I bring energy, empathy, and a genuine love of learning, which I aim to pass on to every child I teach. I look forward to contributing to a school community where children are encouraged to think boldly, express themselves confidently, and take pride in their achievements.
