Duties included:

• Attending to children with acute conditions like seizures, vomiting, diarrhoea, acute asthma, etc. Tasks included history taking and examination as appropriate, then taking of blood or urine samples, throat swabs, and, alongside seniors, setting up a management plan
• Participating in the care of newborns with neonatal conditions like neonatal sepsis, respiratory distress, congenital anomalies, etc.
• Assisting in general and special out-patient paediatric clinics for chronic conditions like asthma, diabetes, etc.
• Teaching medical students the common topics like history taking in paediatrics, physical exam, etc.
• Attending continued medical education sessions
• Presenting seminars on common topics like Bronchiolitis, Epilepsy, Acute Severe Asthma, etc.

Duties included:
• Attending to patients with OBGYN concerns, such as vomiting in pregnancy, bleeding per vagina, reduced fetal movement, miscarriages, endometritis, etc. I would take history, examine as appropriate, take blood or urine samples, high vaginal swabs, and, alongside seniors, set up a management plan
• Assisting the obstetricians in surgeries like C/sections, laparoscopies, etc.
• Assisting in antenatal clinics and other special sessions like early pregnancy, colposcopy, and pessary clinics, etc. These are special clinics for patients with miscarriages, suspicious cervical lesions, and pelvic organ prolapse, respectively
• Teaching of medical students, especially common topics like 'History taking in OBGYN', Obstetric Exam, etc.
• Attending continued medical education teachings on CTG
• Presenting OBGYN seminars on topics such as cord prolapse, shoulder dystocia, chicken pox in pregnancy, etc.

Duties included:

• Participated in the care of several patients with urological conditions such as acute urinary retention, acute epididimo-orchitis, renal stones, urinary tract infections, etc. Duties as the SHO included reviewing them at the Accident & Emergency, discussing with the team, initiating acute management such as Foley catheter insertion, setting up intravenous line, requesting appropriate investigations, etc.
• Also participated in the out-patient clinic sessions as well as the theatre sessions like cystoscopy, among others.

Duties included:

• Participating in the primary care of patients with mental mood disorders like depression, mania, hypomania, etc.
• Working with the consultants to promote improvement of recovery patients
• Working harmoniously with other mental health teams such as community psychiatric nurses, crisis control team, eating disorder services, to ensure a holistic patient care
• Also participated in the primary care of patients with other mental health challenges like schizophrenia, eating disorders, personality disorders, etc.
• In addition to out-patient clinic review, I would chase the patients' blood results such as serum clozapine levels and lithium levels, among others.
• Assessed suicidal patients, escalate to the Crisis Team, and get them sectioned where appropriate

Worked as an FY-1 across four major specialties: Obstetrics/Gynaecology, Internal Medicine, Paediatrics, and Surgery: My duties included:

• Being the first on-call in the assessment of acute cases either at the emergency or wards. I would do initial review and examination, take relevant bloods, request investigations, and discuss with the rest of the team
• Working harmoniously with other members of the health team, under supervision, to provide medical and surgical care to patients, etc.
• In the dialysis unit (Internal Medicine), I participated in dialysis of patients with chronic kidney disease, and I was in charge of femoral cannulation, where necessary, and dialysis of CKD patients
