I have been working as a Senior Medical Officer, Accident and Emergency department, Jaalan Bani Bu Hassan Hospital under Ministry of Health of Sultanate of Oman since December 2018 till July 2024.

  • It is one of the nationally renowned secondary grade hospital that provides versatile in-patient ,out-patient and acute emergeny and trauma based health care services based on standard world-class healthcare protocols.

    Our ED has a triage room, 10 observation beds, 2 treatment rooms, 2 resus room and a big waiting area and equipped with all modern facilities; supported by 24 hours advanced laboratory and radiology department.

    I worked as senior medical officer (ST3) and acted as Head of Emergency Department twice in between.

    My general duties and responsibilises includes

Clinical Management

1. Deliver emergency medical care to 20-30 patients daily in hospital ED setting and covering Night Shifts efficiently,
2. Managing acutely unwell patients using ABCDE approach stabilizing patients with specific emergency care management which involves resuscitations with oxygen, fluids, medications and procedures like securing airway by Inserting ET tube,OP airway, LMA, needle aspiration etc.when indicated.
3. Performing clinical procedures including iv cannulation, ABG sample collection, NGT insertion,catheterization.
4.Performing BLS,ACLS and providing carsh craft trolley medications and lead the team as team leader.

5.Ordering interpreting and analyzing test datas, common radiological findings in x-rays, CT scan MRI scan and also ECG in regular practices to make diagnosis and develop treatment plans

6.Managing injury and fracture related issues by suturings, stabilizing splints, close
reductions, Fascia Iiaca Block,if needed.

7.Collaborating with seniors and juniors and working as a team and managing 7-8 staffed ED team in duty hours.
8.Refering to specialists and admitting patient as required.
COVID pandemedic emergency services

1. Worked as a frontline HCW by providing emergency health care directly contacting patients

2. Planned and operationilised isolated triage rapid treatment with portable xrays and resus units

3. Encouraging ED staffs to work as a team for betterment of patient care and follow stress management techniques at work place.
