Hobbies and Interests

When I am not at college or playing football I enjoy music, going to the cinema and going to the gym/using my fitness equipment at home.

Volunteer Experience

The Beacon of Light Holiday Football Courses, I have volunteered during a number of school holidays to assist with refereeing/supervising younger children at The Beacon of Light Holiday Football Courses.

Community Service

NCS programme, As part of the Sports Diploma, we took part in the NCS programme. We carried out local activities such as helping to paint part of a local community centre and a week residential where we participated in a number of team building and outdoor activities.

ACTIVITIES

I am very keen on all sports, in particular football. I have actively participated in a range of sports throughout primary and secondary schools. Whilst at primary school I represented the school at cricket, netball, lacrosse, tennis and football, and also represented Durham County at football. During my final year at primary school, the football team participated in the EFL National Danone Cup, being runners up in the finals at Barnet FC, then culminating in being a member of the squad for the champion of champion’s cup at St George’s Park. In secondary school I represented the school at cross country, athletics and fields sports, cricket, badminton and football, with athletics, badminton and football being the three sports my GSCE PE qualification was based on. Whilst in years 10 the school football team were League winners and were runners up in the county cup, and in year 11 we won the league and league cup and county cup semi-finalists. All of my Sporting activities gained me Sporting half colours and full colours awards. Since the age of 8 I have played football for a number of local teams at a high standard gaining both league and cup medals during this time. Following a successful trial and selection process I was selected to join the Sunderland Foundation of Light Player Development Squad from the age of 9 until 16. Throughout this time I played multiple positions and learnt a great deal about all aspects of football. One of the highlights of my time in the squad was when we had the opportunity to train at Feyenoord Academy for a week, with their coaches and play in specially arranged matches. The Sports Diploma I am studying is part of the Scholarship Programme at Sunderland Foundation of Light. We are based between the Stadium of Light and Beacon of light, concentrating mainly on football. As part of this programme we play matches around the country in the National Youth Football League- North Premier Division – U19. I am very keen on all sports, in particular football.
