Experienced Operations Shift Leader (Nights) in a fast-paced RDC, responsible for leading large teams, delivering daily operational targets and managing performance through fair and consistent processes, including attendance, disciplinary procedures and colleague welfare in partnership with HR. I’ve recently played a key role in supporting the shift through a period of significant change, stepping up the team adapt following the loss of a Shift Leader whole onboarding a new one. During this time I have supported colleagues through stretched workloads, worked extended hours where needed and provided additional support to a new Department Manager .

Highly effective at supporting KPI delivery, developing leaders, and collaborating across departments; Transport, Process, and Supply Chain, to ensure operational success and store availability. My current position is Nightshift Shift Leader at Lidl Doncaster RDC, with responsibility for a team of around 30 WHOPS. Responsible for the effective delivery of daily operations, including;

  • Operational shift setup and close-down daily, and real-time decision-making to ensure operational success.
  • Managing both my own team and the wider team across multiple areas in line with business needs, maintaining productivity, service levels, and compliance at all times.
  • Liaising closely with HR on a range of people matters, including return-to-work meetings, long-term sickness management, welfare discussions, and flexible working arrangements.
  • Conducting regular one-to-one meetings with new starters to support their development and ensure their performance and conduct align with company policy and expectations.
  • Actively supporting the Department Manager in achieving KPIs by robustly managing team performance, attendance, and productivity, addressing issues promptly, consistently and fairly.
  • Dealing promptly with staff conflicts and finding resolutions to conflicts
  • Working with other Shift Leaders across Transport, Process, and Supply Chain depts to ensure smooth end-to-end operations and consistent availability to stores.
  • Leading Team Briefs to provide communication and improve work efficiency.
  • Overseeing stock inventory, mitigating risk of loss and impacting availability to stores
