I am a hardworking and motivated Occupational Therapist with a passion for supporting people to achieve their goals and maximise their independence. As a CORU-eligible Staff Grade Occupational Therapist, I currently work in an acute frailty admissions unit at the Western General Hospital, Edinburgh, and have gained clinical placement and post-qualification experience within NHS Scotland across older adults’ services, stroke rehabilitation, mental health, paediatric primary care, and hospital discharge planning. During my paediatric placement, I worked closely with children, families, schools, and multidisciplinary teams to support developmental, sensory, and functional needs within community settings. Prior to qualifying, I worked as a Healthcare Assistant in intellectual disability and older adults’ services, experiences which helped shape my compassionate and person-centred approach to practice. Enjoy enjoy building positive relationships with service users and their families and am committed to continuing my learning and professional development. My interest in paediatric Occupational Therapy began during a Transition Year work experience placement at St. Cecilia's Special School in Sligo, where I witnessed the positive impact that therapeutic and educational support can have on a child's development, participation, and independence, is an experience that continues to inspire my interest in paediatric practice today.
