I am an experienced Custodial Manager within the prison service. I joined the service in 2004 and began life as a prison officer, working on a residential unit dealing with prisoners, helping them with their needs, learning de-escalation techniques, how to respond to emergency situations and how to deal with refractory prisoners. I qualified as a Use of Force Instructor and was recruited to be a member of the tactical response unit (Operational Tornado), which was specifically identified to respond to disturbances in prisons around the country.
I gained promotion from Prison Officer, to Senior Officer and finally to my current role of Custodial Manager.
