• I like to take part in community activities. In summer of 2021, I took part in National Citizenship Service, this involved me working for several weeks as part of a team and planning a project to raise money for a local charity. I really enjoyed being part of this scheme as it helped build my confidence and prepare me for college.
• I applied and was selected to take part in British Film Institute Academy in the autumn/winter of 2021. This involved me again working as part of a team to write, produce and direct a short film at Jack Drum Arts in Bishop Auckland. I really enjoyed the technical aspects of the film making and working with others to create something interesting.
• In the first year of my college course, I wrote a children's storybook. I made it on computer and then printed it out and sold copies to raise money for people affected by the war in Ukraine.
• I always try and take as many positive opportunities as I can so I can build my employability skills. On my college course this year, I visited Culture House in Sunderland which is a new library and cultural facility. I had the chance to have a tour and put ideas forward for its development.
• Prior to the Covid pandemic, I was a Fire Cadet in Seaham with the local fire service. I was taught teamwork skills and first aid. I really enjoyed attending this weekly club.
• As a reward for my voluntary services to my church, I was selected by our priest to attend a celebration gathering for young Catholics. This was held in Wembley Arena and involved me travelling with the priest, parish workers and other young people from Northeast to sing and see motivational speakers. I was very proud of this achievement.
• I like to be helpful to people. I often help them with technological problems and like to fix any issues in the home. I feel well suited to a part time job in customer service or hospitality because of the skills I have gained over the last few years.
