Having worked in the Education sector for the past four years I am an extremely compassionate and hardworking Teaching Assistant, who is passionate about helping students grow and reach their full potential. With strong interpersonal and communication skills to quickly build rapport with students and teaching staff.   • Providing help and support to a variety of students with SEND and Dyslexia, across Year groups 7-11. Adapting my support to meet the different needs of the students, whilst encouraging them to become independent learners.
  • Working with students on a one to one basis and in small groups.
  • Establishing good relationships with both students, teaching staff and other departments at school, to ensure the best possible outcomes for our students.
  • Regularly liaising with the Senco and Head of the Dyslexia Centre on the progress of students.
  • Organising the Paired Reading Group, where students who were identified as needing additional support with their reading and comprehension, were supported with older students or TAs. The aim to build their confidence and help to improve these skills to enable them to achieve greater success across all areas of the curriculum. Organised the Rewards Trip at the end to an Activity Centre for 45 students.
  • Took part in the Eco Trip to Wales in the Easter Holidays, with 39 students.
  • Helped with after school clubs including Bushcraft Club and Eco Club.
  • Happy working both independently and using my own initiative when planning one to one lessons and as a team player, as part of a busy team.
  • Extremely flexible and adaptable when things change on a day to day basis, even for example volunteering on the day to take part on a school trip when they were short on numbers of staff.

  • Was the full time Carer for my husband who had Motor Neurone Disease. He was in a wheelchair and using a ventilator and required 24 hour care.
  • Responsible for monitoring his condition on a daily basis, noting any changes and notifying the relevant care department.
  • Administered all his oral medication, ordering and maintaining all his medication.
  • Transferred him with a hoist and was responsible for his personal care and showering.
  • Accompanied him to all doctors and hospital appointments and provided transport for any trips outside of the home, as well as assistance and companionship.
  • Liaised with all external agencies that were involved in his care, which included three different hospitals, Farleighs Hospice, Care agency, doctors, keeping everyone updated on his condition and any necessary changes or if any additional help was needed, ensuring that all his needs were met and that we had the best possible outcomes.
  • Provided any additional Carers with history and training on looking after my husband and use of the ventilator.
