I am currently looking for a new role, and have considerable experience gained in a variety of buy/sell type businesses within the construction industry and associated trades. This skillset includes Purchasing, stock control, product sourcing, sales support, finance and payroll. I take a genuine interest in my work and desire to achieve and progress in any company that I work for, accomplishing this through dedication, loyalty, a "can do" attitude and a willingness to learn new skills through training. I enjoy working for motivated, structured and forward-thinking companies and I enjoy varied tasks, travelling and working and helping others.   • Management and maintaining of relationships with a large number of suppliers, including negotiating and controlling costs/pricing structures, rebates etc.
  • Price updates and stock control of products through the company system.
  • Also heavily involved in sourcing new suppliers to help maximise profitability and competitiveness.
  • Deal with supplier returns and/or product issues.
  • From a customer facing perspective I am responsible for a large number of customer 'special' requirement enquiries and processing the subsequent orders, setting up of new customers, products etc. on the system and organising product training for the sales staff.
  • Additionally I get involved in the management of large customer supply tenders where attention to detail is critical, and have successfully seen these through to completion and new clients being onboarded.
  • I was made redundant from this role in Sept 2023 during a company restructure.

  • This was a wide-ranging role with overall responsibility for the day to day management of business including IT management, HR and staff issues, managing the computer system, fleet management, and a whole range of other admin and non-sales related tasks.
  • Key parts of my role here also included Purchasing, Stock Control, running the Purchase Ledger, making payments to suppliers, and the Nominal Ledger.
  • When the company was bought out by Onsite Support I moved over to join their team.

Internal Sales Coordinator

  • This involved taking incoming phone calls, receiving customer orders and enquiries and processing orders and quotes for clients.
  • I also produced customer invoices on Sage, sending these out to clients.
  • Sadly the business suffered a serious downturn during the GFC and I was included in the redundancies.

  • Here I was an Area Sales Manager, with responsibility for a sales territory including visiting clients to maintain existing and grow new business.
  • I left this role to support a future relocation to Tunbridge Wells.

ONSITE SUPPLIES

  • I carried out both an internal and external role here.
  • For approx. 2 days a week I was on the road, visiting construction sites and customers offices, and the remainder of the week I spent in the office processing sales orders, serving customers on trade counter, contacting suppliers to source non-stock products, and following up on quotes.

Area Sales Manager

  • I joined Swiftec in Manchester as an Area Sales Manager in the south of the country.
  • This involved visiting clients mainly on construction sites to follow up existing business and establish new business.
  • I was also responsible for preparing quotes and then following these up via the phone.
  • I was working totally remotely with very limited contact with head office which proved quite challenging in the days before technology was geared towards this way of working.
  • I made the decision to move on.

MULTIFIX SUPPLY COMPANY
01.1990 - 01.2002
  • I was the first employee in the business so worked alongside the business owner from when the business was very small, carrying out a whole variety of tasks which included taking customer orders/enquiries, processing quotes, and F2F visits.
  • From circa 1996 and until 2002 I was their external sales representative visiting offices, workshops and construction sites, striving to gain the customers' orders and their ongoing loyalty to Multifix.
  • Helped grow the business from an annual turnover of £700,000 to £1,200,000.
