Throughout my time at COOK I have gained sufficient skills and experiences that I think would benefit me going forward into this role I am applying for. One experience in particular I find beneficial is having worked with people apart of the RAW talent program. This in itself I find very valuable as it gives me a broader insight as to the sort of people I may encounter while taking on the role of RAW talent coordinator.
My ambition of taking on this role comes from a responsibility I take outside of work in the form of being a Cub and Scout leader. From the age of 18 I have taken on this role and doing so I have gained a desire to benefit peoples lives and make a greater impact on them personally, whether this be teaching them new skills, providing them with life changing experiences or building their confidence and aiding their ability to make new friends. I would love to channel this desire I have gained from being a leader into this role as I know how challenging it can be to find a job under normal circumstances let alone coming from a disadvantaged background. On top of this the different types of people I have encountered within scouting has given me a broader insight of people who I may encounter within the RAW talent scheme, whether this be the child themselves or their parents.
During my time at school I earned both my bronze and silver D of E awards, during my time achieving this award the school made me their ambassador for the award. This meaning I had the task of promoting the award within the school, influencing feedback as well as giving feedback of my own and collaborating with peers, staff and other people within the award. all three of these in combination has given me broader courage on administration skills, people management as well as solidifying my sense of commitment and responsibility.
