As a technical sales assistant I was responsible for advising customers on which gardening products would best suit their needs, answering questions on gardening topics, and providing a friendly and helpful service. The role also involved dealing with customer issues and complaints which were handled in a calm manner with clear communication and an aim to achieve the best result for all parties.

I assisted with handling and organising stock, restocking shelves, and ensuring the shop was clean, tidy and well presented. I was also responsible for taking orders and writing receipts together with handling cash and providing customers their change. At the end of a shift I was also responsible for cashing up and filling in the takings form.

The role also involved working as part of a team, carrying and preparing items for customers and having knowledge of plants and general gardening topics. As a technical sales assistant I gained strong communication, teamwork and organisational skills, as well as a positive attitude and the ability to work in a busy retail environment.
