  • Haltermann Carless in an oil refinery and distribution plant in Harwich, Essex, that supplies oil-based products including fuel to clients around the world
  • While there, I worked as a lab technician, running tests on samples brought into the plant as well as on sapmles to be sent out to clients
  • I used Excel to input data found from these tests and keep a log of samples tested and the data collected from each test
  • As I showed a good work ethic and was completing my normal work efficiently, my responsibilities were increased to include testing samples for more important clientele
  • I was responsible for logging the data of all samples tested, both by myself and by other technicians
  • The time I spent at Haltermann Carless helped me to improve my time management and data analysis skills, as well as to give me experience working as a team
  • I was required to give weekly updates to the head of the laboratory as well as daily meetings with the head technician to ensure I was meeting their expectations.

Interests

EXTRA CURRICULAR AND VOLUNTARY WORK , In the summer of 2016, I spent two weeks in Scotland with the Outward Bound Trust. Whilst there, I spent three days hiking, camping, and boating through the Scottish Highlands with a group of people I had met whilst there. This experience helped me develop my team building skills, as well as my problem solving skills and people management. Critical Thinking and Problem Solving - Took initiative in a group project when a member of our team left the group. Outward Bounds Award. INTERESTS Football: Played for my secondary school team (2012-2017), Parkston FC (2016-2018), and BLAGS (2020-2021). Music: I have played guitar for 7 years. Tech: I keep up to date with new developments in commercial tech, including transport based and leisure based tech. Science: As a Biology student, I keep up to date with biological and ecological news, as well as the latest in Astronomy and Physics as I have a love of these topics.
