Actor, performer, director.
Multidisciplinary professional with an optimistic outlook on life. Extensive experience in hands-on leadership, I'm never one to leave my team to the dirty work. I will always get stuck in and help my team while providing a confident backbone to inspire and reassure. A meticulous work ethic in my professional, and creative lives, I always try to balance the needs of my colleagues and the customer. Always a dreamer, always looking forward.
My personal motto in life. As pompous as it may be: Labor Omnia Vincit - Hard Work Overcomes All.
I started this job as a barman, but after acting as an unofficial supervisor for some time, I gained the promotion. In this job I am a jack of all trades. I clean to a very high standard, do maintenance, resolve conflicts, run events, cash up, serving customers only makes up twenty percent of the duties. I have learnt many valuable skills, and gained an enormous sense of responsibility from this position which can be transferred into my future career.
In this position teamwork and communication are essential. The area behind the bar is very small; the bar is dark and the music can be very loud. Because of this our team has developed excellent communication skills. Using gestures in lieu of speaking, communicating succinctly, spatial awareness. We all have a very deeply forged sense of teamwork.
This was a volunteer role. While studying at Abertay I became deeply involved in the SAL Drama Society. A long running society with a goal of getting students -who might never have otherwise had the chance- involved in drama and theatre. I performed in, and directed multiple plays during my time there. I was elected by a vote of membership to the committee.
This was a volunteer role. As well as being the Treasurer of SAL Drama, I also acted as the Vice President of the Abertay LGBT Society (Abergays). I was also voted into this position.
At this position I worked in a small kitchen as part of a day centre for the elderly. Many of our clients had special dietary needs which I had to work with the chef to ensure were followed through the entire food preparation process. Being a small kitchen, meant we had to have excellent teamworking and communication skills.
At this position I worked in a large call centre in a department that handled assisted travel requests for National Rail. Customers who face accessibility or mobility issues would call us in advance of travel to arrange for assistance when boarding and alighting trains, and for transport around railway stations.
