I have finished my GCSE's and I'm currently looking for part time work, to not only utilise my free time but to expand my skills and develop new attributes. Playing for a leauge winning football team for many years has taught me a range of existing skills. Being a goalkeeper has improved my focus and quick decision making in high stake situations, as I often have to remain calm and communicate clearly with my teammates during vital moments in games, which is also highly valuable to the workplace.
Through regular training and matches, I've learned the importance of dedication, hard work, and gradual self improvement; I would intend to keep pushing myself further by having a part time job . Having a good relationship with my teammates has improved my social skills, which is potentially beneficial for customer service and hospitality.
Balancing football with my education has built my time management and organisational skills. Especially during my GCSE's, where I juggled revision sessions between matches and training periods. I have also volunteered at a warmzone cafe for the less fortunate. I learnt how to take orders, serve, clean and maintain a healthy and hygienic working environment, I was also attentive and supportive of the customers at the cafe, improving my rapport builidng, and conmmunicative skills.
All My experiences in past work, education and Football have given me many transferable skills that I wish to take into part time employment. I would like to get a part time job to build my assets for the long term, and use these skills to help those around me be more efficient.
During my one-week work experience as a bartender, I gained an understanding of working in a busy customer-focused environment. I helped with tasks such as preparing the workspace, assisting customers, and supporting staff during busy periods. This experience improved my communication skills, confidence when speaking with different people, and ability to stay organised under pressure. I also learned the importance of teamwork, reliability, and providing a positive experience for customers.
I gained experience helping with a range of tasks, including maintaining a clean and organised environment to a high standard. Even at a young age, I was able to develop new skills, build confidence, and understand the importance of responsibility and commitment. This experience helped me improve my attention to detail, organisation, teamwork, and ability to complete tasks efficiently. I learned the importance of being reliable, adapting to different situations, and maintaining high standards in everything I do.
