A seasoned professional with extensive experience in both the military and secondary education sectors, demonstrating a strong proficiency in French and German. Offers a robust background in teaching Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) from Years 7 to 13, complemented by broad curricular exposure beyond MFL. Known for being a highly flexible team player with proven ability to teach students with behavioural issues.
I have provided supply cover in a wide range of secondary schools in the Wiltshire/Gloucester/Bristol area.
Some of my school placements were medium to long term in duration, with one lasting for nearly two years.
Although I have provided general cover across a broad spectrum of the secondary curriculum, my specialist area is MFL, and I have taught French up to KS4 and German up to KS5.
My first career consisted of an uninterrupted period of 28 years’ service within the Education and Training Specialisation of the Royal Air Force. For part of this time I ran the Western European Languages Wing at the Defence School of Languages in Beaconsfield, a post where I was responsible for approximately 20 French, Spanish, Dutch and Italian instructors. I also completed a number of tours teaching English to foreign military students, including Gurkhas, Royal Jordanian Air Force officer cadets and Afghan helicopter aircrew.
