Jessica Smith

I am self-employed providing dog and pet care, including walking, feeding, handling and general welfare. I work independently, using my initiative to manage schedules and respond to each animal’s needs, whilst maintaining their safety and wellbeing. I have developed strong skills in animal care, time management, customer service and responsibility.

I worked as a Kennel Assistant caring for a wide range of dogs, gaining valuable knowledge of dog behaviour and handling. My responsibilities included cleaning and maintaining kennels to high hygiene standards, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for the dogs. This role helped me develop strong animal care skills, attention to detail and a responsible, hardworking attitude.

I volunteered at Goatacre Animal Sanctuary, working as part of a team, whilst also using initiative to work independently when required, to support the daily care and welfare of animals. Duties included monitoring animal health, feeding, cleaning enclosures and training new volunteers. This role helped me develop strong teamwork, communication and responsibility skills.
