• Lead the KS3 pastoral team to ensure a safe and supportive environment for all pupils
• Act as Deputy DSL helping to manage safeguarding issues and support pupil well-being
• Implement the behaviour policy, reducing exclusions and managing interventions to improve attendance and punctuality
• Liaise with families to support students with behavioural challenges or barriers to learning

• Develop and implement the school's teaching and learning strategy to improve pedagogical quality.
• Monitor and evaluate teaching standards through lesson observations, work scrutiny and line management
• Ensure the curriculum is effectively delivered and that assessment data is used to boost student achievement.
• Lead staff development, including mentoring ECTs and organising INSET
• Research and implement modern, evidence-based teaching techniques.

• Lead the transition process from Year 6 to 7, nurturing a safe, welcoming, and inclusive culture
• Lead on the implementation of the school behaviour policy, promoting positive behaviour and resolving conflicts through restorative practice
• Manage and support a team of form tutors, coordinating tutor time activities, assemblies, and consistent pastoral communication.
• Establish strong, regular communication with parents and carers regarding pupil progress and welfare.

• Develop, implement, and review the History curriculum, schemes of work, and assessment methods to ensure a challenging and engaging learning experience.
• Monitor pupil progress, analyse exam results and implement strategies to raise standards
• Lead, manage, and appraise departmental staff, fostering professional development and providing mentorship
• Promote a passion for History through extra-curricular activities, trips, and visits

• Deliver high-quality lessons, teaching across all levels and abilities, including GCSE and A-Level
• Regularly assess, mark, and monitor student work to set challenging targets and report progress, implementing intervention when needed
• Maintain a safe, engaging, and disciplined learning environment in line with school policies
• Maintain deep, up-to-date knowledge of the subject matter and pedagogical techniques through ongoing CPD

• Investigate public and private records, including birth/marriage/death certificates and wills
