- Delivered approximately 500 newspapers each week, which arrived on Friday night and needed to be sorted and delivered by Sunday evening. I had to make sure I stayed organised and completed the deliveries within the given time.
- Created my own system for folding and organising the newspapers so they fitted neatly into bags. I then organised the bags based on the different delivery routes, which made the process quicker and easier to manage.
- This role helped me develop strong time-management and organisational skills. It also taught me how to work independently, plan ahead and find my own ways of making a task more efficient while still completing it to a good standard.
Lifeguard Course

- Completed a one-week lifeguarding course covering important skills such as water safety, rescuing people in difficulty and how to respond to emergencies.
- Took part in both practical and theory-based training, learning how to perform CPR and other lifesaving techniques. I used a lifeguarding textbook to develop my knowledge and understanding of the role.
- Successfully passed the final exam and became a qualified lifeguard. The course helped me develop my confidence, ability to stay calm under pressure, teamwork and responsibility, as well as teaching me important lifesaving skills.
