  • Worked with Adults with special needs for 6 years in support work
  • Throughout this time learning to support adults with special needs by helping them to be as independent as possible

This is practiced community based through weekly activities, medical appointments which involves advocating for individuals as this allows them to be heard, understood when this can be challenging at times

  • There is importance in regards to practicing medication administration as this needs to be done correctly, otherwise this can result in adverse effects such as overdosing and change in behaviour

To ensure this is performed correctly at all times, staff are required to take part in e-learning, face to face training as well as medication stock checks

This ensues that there is sufficient amount of medications available when required
