My biggest and most important role in my career so far involved my time working as an advertising and promotion assistant for Gill Developments based in Calgary Alberta. This role saw me as an intern, shadowing an advertising and promotion specialist within the company, whilst working remotely from home.

Responsibilities

• Performing market analysis and research on the competition
• Collecting quantitative and qualitative data from marketing campaigns.
• Conducted market research to understand the customer base and enhance products.
• Devised creative strategies for highlighting goods and promoting specific attributes.

This role was extremely key in giving me first-person experiences to heighten my knowledge around marketing, as well as business in general.

My most recent role belongs to my time at Tapas Revolution. Although having plenty of experience previously in hospitality, these roles all involved being in a familiar and comfortable environment. I forced myself into a new environment, where the main attraction of the restaurant was the Spanish feel. This saw me learning the Spanish menu very quickly to articulate to potential customers, whilst greeting and welcoming customers using Spanish greetings. I believe in putting myself into difficult situations, as it is the best possibility for growth.

The role involved:

• Warmly greeted guests upon arrival to create a welcoming atmosphere.
• Resolved guest complaints promptly and professionally, notifying restaurant management of concerns.
• Served high volumes of guests in fast-paced service environments with exceptional customer care. (Tapas is a small setting, making busy nights very fast-paced).
• Cleaned, sanitised and organised food storage racks and bins, maintaining exceptional hygiene standards.
• Regularly communicated with kitchen and bar staff to maintain smooth front-of-house operations, minimising potential service delays.
• plus plenty more attributes involving exceptional hospitality.

Rosa Thai was home to my first-ever Waiter role. the decision behind this job title came from a conversation with my father. He told me a job such as being a restaurant waiter is amazing in adding to my interactions skills. this was very true, as being a waiter forces you to engage with many new people every day, giving a different experience to everyone depending on their preferences. this saw me adapting to every customer, to be able to cater for their exact needs. I can firmly state working as a waiter for Rosa's Thai added many key attributes to my character that I will never forget.

Key roles involved:

• Calculated charges, issued bills and collected payments, processing accurately to avoid discrepancies.
• Managed restaurant closing duties, from cleaning dining areas to cashing up tills.
• Assisted customers with menu selection, offering knowledge of current special dishes and personal recommendations to build rapport.
• Regularly communicated with kitchen and bar staff to maintain smooth front-of-house operations, minimising potential service delays.
