Summary

My name is Jamie Algar. I'm a 23-year-old Telecommunications Engineer from Tavistock, currently working for Openreach. I'm now looking to take the next step in my career by joining the Nuclear Health Physics Monitor Apprenticeship at Devonport. In my current job, I work with a range of testing equipment and diagnostic tools, carrying out fault-finding, equipment checks and practical work where accuracy and safety are key. I'm used to assessing risks on site, following set procedures, and making sure work is completed safely and to a high standard. These experiences have given me a careful, methodical approach and confidence working with technical processes. I'm keen to build on this by learning the principles of radiation monitoring and supporting the safety and operations of the dockyard.
